Background:

Using the outline of a banana leaf, I have filled the interior with a repetitive blackwork/sashiko pattern. This pattern can be done entirely in black for blackwork or a mix of colors as shown for a different feel. Pattern is test stitched on 18ct Aida fabric.

This pattern can be a full backstitch by following the blackwork pattern. It is suitable for beginners given the repetitive nature of the pattern.
